1. When can I pick up my building permit?

Please arrive between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. to pick up building permit. For more information, please call 540-775-7111.

2. Can I call in an inspection?

Yes. Please call 540-775-7111 before 3 p.m. to schedule an inspection for the following day. Information that will be requested to schedule an inspection:

• Permit number
• Owner's last name
• Type of Inspection
• Date you want the inspection

Inspections cannot be scheduled from voice mail. Please keep in mind that an inspection cannot be made on an occupied residence of nobody is home.

4. Can I request a time for my inspection?

No. You may call 540-775-7111 between the hours of 8 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. on the day of your inspection to see what time the inspector thinks they will be there.

5. Whom do I contact about residential building plan questions or inspections?

Please call 540-775-7111 between 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. in the morning and 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the afternoon to speak with an inspector.

6. How long does it take to issue a permit?

If all required information is provided, a permit is usually processed within 7-10 business days from the date of application. For more information, please call 540-775-7111.
